The above mentioned pressure is the air pressure measured at 20°C /70°F room temperature that a single coupler can withstand using NBR gasket without leakage. It does not refer to the pressure in operation or coupled situation.
■ TEMPERATURE RANGE
High temperature and / or Teflon (PTFE) seals will reduce the pressure rating of the cam & groove couplings. In case of Polypropylene, the maximum working temperature is 70℃/160℉, at which temperature the working pressure shown above must be reduced by 40%.
■ N.B. :
- Cam & Groove couplings must never be used for steam or compressed air applications.
- Dust plugs (type DP) and dust caps (type DC) are not to be used in pressure applications.
- Working pressure depends on sizes, materials, temperatures, seals, and operating conditions, and for use at elevated temperature or other unusual operating conditions, consult Shyang-Twu.
- Under normal condition, safety pins are recommended in a safe manner.
