SEAL PROPERTY
NBR (BUNA N)
Standard in our metal cam & groove couplings. Nitrile is a synthetic rubber offering improved chemical resistance and temperature capabilities to neoprene. The material offers good resistance to oil based hydraulic fluid fats, animal and vegetable oils, flame retardant, liquids, grease, water and air. It offers poor resistance to ozone, ketones, esters and sunlight weather.
EPDM
Standard in our polypropylene cam &groove couplings. EPDM offers good resistance to ozone, heat, steam, strong acid, alkalis and alcohol. It is not suitable for use in oils, greases, solvents and aromatic hydrocarbons.
VITON
Viton offers excellent resistance to mineral oils, greases, alifatic, aromatic, and also special chlorinated hydrocarbons, petrol, diesel fuels, silicon oils and many corrosive industrial applications. The materials offer excellent resistance to temperature, weathering and gas permeability. It is not suitable for use against amines, esters, ketones, steam or low temperature service.
NEOPRENE
Neoprene offers excellent oil resistance, low permeability to gases and resistance to ozone, weathering and corrosion. The material is suitable for moderate acids, alkalis, salt solutions, petroleum and commercial oils and fuels. It is considered unsuitable for use with strong acids, fats, greases, and most hydrocarbons.
HYPALON
Hypalon offers excellent resistance to acid and oils, obsolescent and ozone resistant. It is not suitable for use with chlorine.
SILICONE
The silicone range of rubbers offers excellent high and low temperature properties, far superior to any other grade. Steam, oils resistant.
TEFLON (PTFE)
Resistant to nearly all chemicals, PTFE have good temperature capabilities. It has very limited flow capabilities which makes the use of a rubber filler essential. The choice of filler will be dictated by the application medium or temperature.
